Quality affordable Midlands Mastering with Xenophorm Studios

I helped to organise a fundraising event recently and one of the djs i booked was Simon Xe:techno Owen – a techno producer, dj, label owner and studio engineer. I became aware of his work through being on a promo list and his tracks are always ones that go straight into the collection, which is a welcome thing. Now he is the mastering engineer for our Loop Lounge project and is producing a remix set collection of his own so i recently asked him if he would be interested in doing a rough master of my tracks in exchange for an evolving feature on this website.

2014 - 1

As stated in a previous post my approach to making my loop lounge collection was to use parts from an ep of tracks id made. The tracks themselves were intended as practice tracks made in a day way back in september when our boat was getting her hull blacked. When this project came along i decided to revisit them and after some more production work they turned out ok, with the parts contained within them being further produced and then edited to make my first collection.

When i was djing a party recently i dropped one of the tracks and realised i need to get them mastered as there was information missing, so i sent them to Simon. In a really short period of time Simon addressed all the issues i’d had with the tracks and even managed to improve one which was an overcompressed file.

As they were only intended as practice tracks i hadnt had the best final versions to work with, but nevertheless – in a really short period of time – Simon addressed all the issues i’d had with the tracks and even managed to improve them.

Here are the before and after.
